A man who boarded the train earlier than planned for his daughter's birthday died in a train accident.

A man named Subhajit Mali, who had left for Kolkata from Siliguri before the planned date for his daughter's birthday, also died in the collision between Kanchenjunga Express and a goods train in Darjeeling (West Bengal). The deceased's relative said, "He was supposed to return after a few days... but because of his daughter's birthday he took the train on Monday."
