Israel war on Gaza live: Aid group says up to 21,000 children missing

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached unprecedented levels, with a staggering number of casualties and missing persons, particularly among children. According to human rights organizations and the Gaza Health Ministry, the ongoing conflict has led to the deaths of over 21,000 people, with a significant proportion being children. Additionally, aid groups report that up to 21,000 children are currently missing

The conflict, which escalated following the October 7 attacks by Hamas on Israel, has resulted in severe shortages of essential supplies like food, water, and medicine in Gaza. This situation has further compounded the difficulties faced by the civilian population, especially children, who are suffering from malnutrition, dehydration, and other health issues

International calls for a ceasefire have been largely ignored, and despite limited pauses in fighting for humanitarian aid, the situation remains dire. The United Nations and various aid organizations continue to warn of a catastrophic humanitarian disaster if the conflict does not de-escalate soon
