Parliament session day 4 highlights: Amid NEET-UG row, President Murmu assures guilty will be punished

During Day 4 of the Parliament session, significant attention was given to the NEET-UG row. President Droupadi Murmu addressed the issue, assuring that those responsible for any wrongdoing would be held accountable. This comes amid widespread protests and allegations of paper leaks and irregularities in the NEET-UG examination.

The controversy has led to the formation of a high-level committee by the Ministry of Education to review the NEET-UG results and the awarding of grace marks to over 1,500 candidates. The committee's findings are expected to be crucial in determining the next steps, which might include a possible re-examination or result revisions

Additionally, the opposition has been vocal in Parliament, criticizing the government for its handling of the NEET-UG exams and accusing the National Testing Agency (NTA) of serving political interests rather than maintaining exam integrity. The government, in response, has removed the NTA chief and taken steps to ensure exam reforms

Overall, the session has been marked by heated debates and strong assurances from the government to address the concerns raised by students and other stakeholders regarding the NEET-UG examinations.
